Our Approach

Our Approach

We have struggled and we have seen people close to us struggle with making changes in their lives they really truly want to make. The reasons for their struggles are very different and their solutions are as individual as they are. What has worked magically for me has been a frustrating failure for my wife and vice versa. Ultimately we recognize that making each day better means something different for each of us. Our goal is to provide tools that have worked for us and tools that have not.
The world is awash in self-improvement advice. In some cases, we strive for ideals that are unhealthy or untrue, supported only by myth and hearsay, or held up to us as the perfect diet, the perfect figure, or the perfect investment. Many of you have likely heard so many conflicting reports of what is good for us that you have come to believe none of what is reported.

Our goal is to provide information that you can use to try to make everyday improvements every day. We will try to provide a balanced view of why we think the technique may work and why we think it may be worth trying. We will provide cautions regarding the ways in which the technique may defeat you. Every technique we have seen has buried within it the seeds of its own downfall. Whether it works depends on many things, things you may be able to control if you are forewarned of the peril. We will generally be attempting to help you overcome the behaviors and mindsets that defeat us. While we are in favor of general goals, rarely will be suggesting specific goals. For example, we are in favor of frequent exercise. We will not tell you how much exercise you need to be “healthy”. There is much debate on how frequently and how intensely you must exercise to achieve prevent certain diseases. However, we are confident that the tools and techniques we provide will help you to make steps in exercising more, persisting longer, and perhaps even increase your frequency and intensity, if that is your goal.

Our Story

A Couple of Principles

The purpose of this site is not to advertise simply for the sake of advertising. Don't get me wrong, I am not against making money. But all advertising on this site will be for items I have used and believe in and I think will help you.

I will not give your personal information to anyone outside my team. Ever. For any reason.

Meet the Team

My "team" is just me. Obviously, I have the love and support of family and friends, but this website is mine. Over time, I hope to build a community and when I do,  the team will grow to allow us to find better ways to serve you and help you on your journey. Lest you be concerned this is a lonely journey for me, fear not. My dog Macon (which we pronounce Mason), our 5-year old rescue, is my constant companion.

A project manager with a long history of making bad projects better through incremental improvement and everyday diligence. My particular joy was helping teams and individuals focus on progress rather difficulties. That is my goal here too.

The guy who shares my office!

I wish I could tell you what breed he is, but I cannot. He is "whatever you want him to be". I have heard pretty much every suggestion. Most are better guesses than the DNA test we did!
